19th CENTURY THREE-BODY TRAVELING STORAGE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY

About the Item

Stunning travel cabinet in ebonized wood, made in China, dating back to around the 19th century during the Qing dynasty. Made with precious materials such as the chalky background and rice paper, it is decorated with scenes painted on a graffitied gold background and polychromes in rich red tones. The Chinese landscape representations featured on the furniture include traditional houses, boats and human figures. The structure of the furniture is made up of three bodies, with a sliding opening top and side drawers, as well as small compartments for objects. The elegant turned legs are enriched with golden details, giving the furniture a refined and classy appearance. This unique piece is able to add a touch of oriental exoticism to the furnishings, making the environment fascinating and elegant. Measurements: H x W x D 134 x 61 x 55cm
