Massive Pair of 19th C. Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Vases with Deer Decoration

About the Item

A massive and impressive Pair of 19th C. Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Vases with '100' Deer Decoration. Decorated with a multitude of deer and birds amongst a meadow with flowering branches growing from rocks and mountains on a turquoise ground. The attention to detail is immaculate with each deer being a different color harmoniously living with one another within the peace of the wilderness. The mountains are all beautiful with variable sizes demonstrating the differences between the depth of each mountain in the plane of view. Flying around the area are beautiful cranes, which symbolize longevity and peace. The entire landscape is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and nobility. Around the borders are flying bats each of a different color and style, yet another symbol of health, long life, prosperity, love of virtue, and a tranquility. China, Circa: 19th century Provenance: Private New York City Collection, Purchased in Paris in the 1970's.
