About the Item

Beautiful Japanese Showa period four panel silk screen depicting a colorful Hanaguruma or flower cart. A bountiful cornucopia of peonies, irises, wisteria, and chrysanthemums set in a festival style cart. The cart is painted and decorated with parcel gilt embellishments and pink rope. Made in the Nihonga school style and signed by artist So with a seal on bottom right side. Ink and natural color pigments over a raw style silk background. Set in an ebonized frame with a silk brocade border. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
