Tall Antique Sumatra Hand-Carved Wood Batak Temple Mask from the 20th Century

An antique Batak temple mask hand-carved of wood from the 20th century. This tall mask was hand-carved of wood in Sumatra, Indonesia. The mask adopts an abstract diamond shape with a central pattern evoking a standing woman surrounded by openwork motifs. Two black painted circles serve as eyes. The back is not carved. This mask comes from a temple, where it was likely used in various ceremonies.
