The Box crafted from Sycamore wood of rectangular form with domed lid decorated extensively to the exterior with the McBeth family tartan with colours or green, red, yellow and blue. When opened the box reveals the original silk lining with a tufted inside lid faced in gold tooling. The storage compartment is lined in cushioned silk with a rope work base edging the perimeter. The box is finished with a brass button catch to the front. The box dates to the middle of the 19th century during the early Victorian Era circa 1850. A stunning Antique Silver Artist’s paint box by Harry Atkin, Date Sheffield 1892. A Rare Miniature travelling paint box in excellent condition. The silver on both the outside and the interior is in superb condition. Upon opening, the front cascades down to reveal two wells for water and perhaps mixing colours. The interior is well protected thanks to the interior gilding. The lid engraved “Lettice’s Paint Box”. Lettice is a traditional, English girl’s name most commonly found in the upper classes. The actual paints are not original but the current set of paints are a later acceptable replacement. The miniature brush was with it but not original and doubt it ever had one. This exceptional antique English 18k yellow gold snuff box has an oblong form with rounded ends. The body of this antique box is embellished with engine turned decoration, accented with tooled borders. This impressive antique 18k gold box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with further engine turned decoration to the upper plateau; the underside of the box bears the same design as the cover. The anterior rim of the cover incorporates an impressive applied yellow gold thumbpiece, ornamented with cast floral festoon decoration. The interior of the cover is embellished with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented to Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Cother C.B. on his retirement from the Service by the Officers of the 83d Regiment, As a token of their respect and esteem, MDCCCXXIX'; these Roman numerals pertain to 1829. Condition This antique 18k gold snuff box is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
