French Clock with a Love Scene

About the Item

A French late 19th century gilt-bronze (ormolu) mantel clock in the Rococo style. This trapeze-shaped clock is supported by four scroll feet, the lower part of the piece is symmetrically ornamented with rococo motifs. It is surmounted by a gilt bronze sculpture of a couple in romantic garden, man giving flower to lady. The piece is in good condition with a lovely patina. It shows a matt and burnished finish and is finely worked and chiseled. Measures: Height 40.5 cm, width 26 cm, depth 12 cm.
