About the Item
This antique French mantel clock is crafted from ornate gilt bronze and gilttering cut-glass and dates from the early 19th century. The clock sits on a rectangular ormolu base set on four feet with two levels of cut glass above, each level set on a gilt bronze plinth with egg and dart ornamentation. The gilt bronze clock dial sits above the lower section of the clock, and features white circular enamel plaques with Arabic numerals and a gilt bronze border decorated with flowers.
