Harmfull Ceramics Sculpture by Alina Rotzinger

About the Item

Harmfull ceramics sculpture by Alina Rotzinger Dimensions: H 35 x W 30 x D 20 cm. Materials: high temperature ceramics, oxide pigments and dead flowers. Composed by Alina Rotzinger as design director and artist and Sebastian Rotzinger as industrial designer. After a lifetime together, Our collaboration came in a simple and organic way. We have been dancing together for a long time but It wasn’t until we found a mutual obsession that made us create Estudio Rotzinger. From there, this studio was born, working in multiple dynamic ways. The life and experiences we had are reflected in our designs. Trying to find a way of sharing our vision, our reality; our proximity to technology with an upbringing in the jungle, trough objects, we seek to rebuild and narrow the gap between nature and the technological, industrialized and sophisticated present until creating something that cannot be defined one way or the other. Juxtaposing natural and artificial materials, organic and geometric shapes. For as long as I can remember, my favorite and probably happiest moments in life were always involved with artistic activities. Both me and my siblings grew up in the Mexican jungle all our childhood. That "key factor" was what forged me the most, driving my creativity constantly. I was somewhat isolated from outside influences. My toys were not designed by others and I just played with them. My toys were designed, created and used in a space invented by me. It was a constant explosion of creativity and luckily, my parents never held me back, on the contrary, they helped us make any "design" come true. In addition to the fact that my dad always had a well-equipped workshop, I have been playing carpenter, mechanic, welder, explorer, ceramist, designer and many more for 25 years. As for my artistic career, I decided after having studied interior architecture and graphic design and not completing either, that I was going to embark on a more self-taught path like the one I enjoyed so much as a child. Making my artistic career very focused on the themes of nature, technology, evolution, balance and transparency/purity. Developing my projects with an element that absorbed my attention since I was a child. The pointed, sharp objects; spikes and thorns.
