About the Item
A pair of life size Italian carved wooden parrot sculptures from the late 19th century, mounted on modern steel bases. I fell in love with this pair of carved parrots as soon as I laid my eyes on them! The natural wood, combined with the simple yet precise carving, create a beautiful rendition of these birds. They are mounted on modern steel bases that allow them to be positioned in a forward movement. The more noticeable wear of the second parrot witnesses the aging of the pieces. With their lovely presence, this pair of Italian carved wood bird sculptures circa 1880 will enliven any chest-of-drawer, console table or side table beautifully.
