About the Item
Rare example of an early English Chinoiserie Masons Ironstone China twin gilt handled Vase of compact proportions decorated in the Japan “Fence Pattern”, depicting flowers and foliage in colours of iron red and blues on a white ground. Octagonal Baluster form throughout. Mid nineteenth century, possibly earlier.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses, no discoloring anywhere, small hairline to one gilt handle. Typically unmarked. Back and front views are similar.
Measures: Height: (entire as image one) 7.5" (19cm). Width: (across handles area) 5.5” (14cm). Diameter base: 3.25” (8.5cm).
