Ginori Doccia Porcelain Refresher Vase Galli Rossi Series 1950s

About the Item

Refreshed porcelain vase by Ginori Doccia, Galli Rossi collection, made in the 1950s Ø cm 25 h cm 17 Ginori Doccia is a type of Italian porcelain produced in the town of Doccia, near Florence, since 1737. It is known for its high quality, its distinctive white color, and the use of elaborate floral and figurative designs. The Ginori Doccia factory was founded by the Marquis Carlo Ginori, a rich Florentine nobleman passionate about porcelain. Ginori was inspired by the success of the Meissen porcelain factory in Germany and wanted to create a similar factory in Italy. The first years of Ginori Doccia were difficult, but eventually the factory was successful. In the 18th century Ginori Doccia porcelain was used by many of Europe's leading royal families and was exported throughout the world. The Ginori Doccia factory continued to produce high-quality porcelain into the 19th and 20th centuries. In the 1920s the factory was acquired by the Italian company Richard-Ginori, which still produces Ginori Doccia porcelain today. Here are some additional details about Ginori Doccia porcelain: Materials: Ginori Doccia porcelain is made from a mixture of kaolin, feldspar and quartz. Production process: Ginori Doccia porcelain is made using a process called casting. The liquid clay is poured into a mold and then baked in the oven. Decoration: Ginori Doccia porcelain is decorated by hand. Decorators use a variety of techniques, including painting, gilding and enamelling. Types of Pieces: Ginori Doccia porcelain is used to make a variety of pieces, including tableware, figurines and vases. Famous artists: Numerous famous artists have worked for the Ginori Doccia Manufacture, including Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and Ferdinando Maria Campana. Museums: Ginori Doccia porcelain can be found in numerous museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
