Pair of French Art Déco Art-Glass Vases in Geometric Design by Oreor, 1930s

About the Item

Pair of very decorative, bulbous pressed art-glass vases by Oreor, signed. Pressed glass with plastic geometric art deco motif in almost transparent glass and relief-like outer structure. The color has a light violet-grey tone, the plasticity of the elements looks a bit more intense in this transparent tone. The pressed glass has a duller surface and softer contours than cut glass. Pressed glass in the Art Deco period after World War I was dominated by simple shapes as well as decorations reduced by colored surfaces and lines. One type of decoration used in the 1930s, especially for vases and similar objects, was oralite also called agate art glass, marble glass, cloud glass or slag glass. The opening of the vase has a diameter of 8.0cm the upper third of the vase has a diameter of 15cm and then widens to 25cm. The base has a diameter of 16cm Undamaged original condition.
