Three Barrel Tantalus
About the Item
This charming 19th-century English crystal and silverplate tantalus takes the form of three barrels on a wagon. Historically, the purpose of the tantalus was to keep one's favorite beverages safe from unwanted consumption while still showcasing the contents within. To add further visual intrigue, these unique barrels are accented by chased foliate motifs, and three putti serve as handles to dispense spirits.
