20th Century French Solid Silver & Blown Glass Riffle Decanter, c.1920
About the Item
Antique early 20th century French solid silver and blown glass decanter. Of very large size, modelled as a riffle, glass mounted with elegant silver mounts and screw on stopper. This decanter can hold approx up to 5 liter of your drink of choice. Hallmarked French silver (boar's head, used 1838-1962, 800 silver standard), Maker Unknown. This decanter is relevant today as it was then, it makes a fantastic conversation piece and wonderful as part of a collection of barware in the modern home.

This exceptional antique Danish silver jug has a circular rounded form onto a circular spreading foot, all in the Art Nouveau style. The surface of this antique water jug has a subtle planished finish. This impressive piece is fitted with a C-shaped handle, with a bifurcating upper portion and the original carved painted wood hand piece. The spout is embellished with a vase shaped design to the nadir. The underside of the Art Nouveau jug bears the engraved initials 'A.N' and date '1927', in addition to the hallmarks.
