Monumental Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Flagon Jug Pitcher Lidded 1866
About the Item
A magnificent oversized Antique Victorian Silver Flagon in the style of a Georgian Silver Ale Jug. This Ale Flagon has a classic baluster shaped form and stands on a domed pedestal foot. The Flagon has an impressive chased face embellishing the spout opposite a substantial scroll handle. The Jug has a stepped domed lid and a scroll thumb piece. The interior of the Jug is gilded.
Made in London, England in 1866 by Beare Fulke.

This impressive antique coffee jug is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked cover encircled with a bright cut engraved undulating band; the flush indicates the high quality of the piece. The cover is surmounted by the original sterling silver finial in the formation of a flower comprised of scrolling leaf designs and textures. The coffee jug retains the original rounded sterling silver handle, incorporating a leaf design to the upper portion and an exceptional leaf design to the lower socket.
