A Fine Majolica Pewter Mounted Renaissance Style Wine Jug, circa 1880

About the Item

A fine Majolica pewter mounted Renaissance style wine jug, the jug is in an olive green glaze with four oval blue-framed cartouches of infant Bacchus in cream on brown background. Impressed circular mark on base, probably Austrian, circa 1880. The jug is 15"-inches high x 6 1/2"-inches in diameter and 7 1/2"-inches across to handle. Nicely decorated pewter lid and thumb handle.
