About the Item
Antique French hand-painted Limoges porcelain Presidential oyster plate in the original Turkey pattern, Circa 1880's-1890's. Made by Haviland & Co.
Commissioned by the administration of American President Rutherford B. Hayes, this plate is the pinnacle of oyster plate collecting. It has the Presidential Seal on the back. These plates were all individually hand-painted.
This plate has beautiful coloring in blues, greens, and gold. Exceptional hand-painting and detail.
