Exceptional Modern Sterling Silver Stirrup Cup Shaped as a Rabbit. Maker: John Reginald Burrows. Made in the United Kingdom, Birmingham 2008. Fully hallmarked. Crafted by the renowned silversmith, John Reginald Burrows, this piece is a nod to the rich tradition of British craftsmanship. Originating in the 18th century, stirrup cups - traditionally in the form of foxes or hounds - were presented to riders mounted on horseback during hunting, for a parting drink.
