Modern Murrine Red and White Murano Chandelier
About the Item
This stunning and unusual modern two-toned Murano ceiling lamp is adorned with beautiful white frond elements, a scarlet red bulbous center column, and a brass finial. The prominent light bowl is speckled with red and white spots formed by rolling the molten glass in colorful glass pieces before hand-blowing the piece. As the glass form is shaped, the colorful chips stretch and soften in appearance.
The glass houses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. This elegant fixture highlights a mastery of such Venetian glass craftsmanship. This red and white fixture is mesmerizing, elevating any interior with a dappled warm glow when illuminated. It would be a charming addition to any dining room, living room, or study.
