French 19th Century Neoclassical St. Ormolu and Crystal Sconces Signed Baccarat
About the Item
A stunning and monumental pair of French 19th century neo-classical st. ormolu and crystal seven arm, nine-light sconces, signed Baccarat. Each lyre shape sconce is centered by a finely chased ormolu inverted bottom acorn finial, the original mirror backplate fitted within an ormolu border. At the center are the seven beautiful arms with intricately chased ormolu palmettes and foliate patterns in a striking satin and burnished finish. Each arm displays outstanding reeded crystal candle cups, each signed BACCARAT, all adorned with fine prism cut crystals. Behind the arms is an exquisite floral band, below ormolu palmettes, and striking crystal daggers, with reeded ormolu bases. The original lyre-shaped mirrored backplate is framed within an ormolu band with fine floral rosettes. Beautiful cut crystal garlands lead up to the elegant top crown with ormolu berried laurel palmettes spray and cut crystals pendants. With all original gilt throughout.
