Pair Brass Sconces Removed from a Historic Howard Van Doren Shaw Home c1909
About the Item
Our pair of hand-made solid brass sconces were removed from The John Rogerson Montgomery House, which was a residence designed by architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in Glencoe, Illinois. It is considered to be a significant example of Georgian Revival architecture mixed with Arts & Crafts influences and was constructed in 1908-1909. The house where the sconces came from is listed on The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is the United States federal government's official list of districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects deemed worthy of preservation for their historical significance or "great artistic value". The solid brass hand-made sconces are in working condition and were beautifully crafted over 100-years ago.
