Pair of 19th Century Large Scale Ormolu Sconces
About the Item
An exquisite pair of 19th century Louis XVI st. large scale ormolu sconces. Each remarkable sconce has five 's' scrolled arms decorated with acanthus leaves. The lyre shaped pierced backplate has a bottom acorn finial below a running wave border. Above are richly chased acanthus leaves, scrolls and rosettes. At the top is a large bow with a central rosette. All original gilt.
