Swedish Modern Wall Lamps in Teak Wood, Brass and Opaline Glass, Sweden, 1950s
About the Item
This elegant pair of wall lights was produced in Sweden in the 1950s. The design consists of a holder and back plate in solid teak wood, with a beautiful, warm grain. A nice detail is the arm and finial in brass. The matt white shades are tear shaped and made of opaline glass. The decorative appeal of the shades is further emphasized by the zigzag edges of the top part. The shades distribute a pleasant and soft light when the lamps are illuminated.
The pair is in very good condition. Currently corded and with 220V European plugs, the fixtures can also be mounted onto a wall outlet directly.
Swedish Modern designers working in the same era/style include Hans Bergström, Hans Agne Jakobsson, Paavo Tynell and Josef Frank.
