This lamp is iconic Italian marble with beautiful metal work! A rose bush is depicted in gold and it sets upon a fabulous Italian marble base with a streak of gold! The lamp is crowned with a parchment shade and looks superb!
The manufacturer is Wilmar, who was a competitor of Marbro and Raymor, producing many lamps made in Italy for high end decorators and buyers during the fifties.
The base with its marvelous details is a period tribute to Asian and Eastern decorative styles! It acts as a beautiful base for this gleaming glass!
This is the sort of lamp that was found in many mid century penthouses and Architectural Digest interiors! Italian metal work was in great demand and lamps, baskets and other wares would be imported for upscale interiors. It has a classical timelessness that permits it to be used in many interior decor themes.
