Exceptional and Rare 18th Century Swedish Rococo Mirror

About the Item

Exceptional and rare 18th century Northern Star Rococo Swedish / Scandinavian gilt-wood mirror in it's original finish and mirror glass. Ca 1760 Stockholm, Sweden. Very rare and magnificent example due to the craftsmanship, size and the Northern Star. The Northern Star was used from the end of the 17th century as a symbol of the Swedish king Karl XII. And during the 18th century, it also symbolised Swedish research and wit.
