Italian Giltwood and Patinated Cobalt Blue Mirror
About the Item
An architectural and most elegant Italian 19th century neo-classical st. giltwood and patinated cobalt blue mirror. The original mirror plate is set within a beautiful thick mottled border decorated with charming richly carved cabochon reserves at the base and sides flanked by charming finely detailed foliate designs with a lovely lattice pattern. The triangular shaped top crown displays three striking urns with scrolled movements at each side centering elegant rosettes, palmettes and a superb lions head set on a rich cobalt blue background. All original gilt throughout.
