Colonial Furniture: The Superb Collection of the Late Howard Reifsnyder, including signed pieces by Philadelphia cabinetmakers, formerly contained in the Reifsnyder residence, the Pennsylvania Museum and Mount Pleasant Mansion, Philadelphia; sold by order of the executors, Hannah G. Reifsnyder and Corn Exchange National Bank and Trust Company, Philadelphia. 1st Ed rebound in hardcover with 275 pp., and numerous b&w illustrations. Issued in conjunction with a sale of colonial furniture once owned by Philadelphian Howard Reifsynder. Said to be a landmark sale of collectibles, the "greatest American furniture sale ever held," that included tables, chairs, benches, sideboards, bookcases, chests, clocks, quilts, pewter pieces, and more. With an introduction by Leslie A. Hyam and Shirley Falcke. The annotated catalogue with penciled results of the 717 lot items. The sale achieved more than $600,000.
