18th Century Louis XVI-Style Barometer in Gilded Wood adorned with Doves

About the Item

We present you this exceptionally rare square-shaped Louis XVI-style barometer from the 18th century, crafted from gilded wood. Its pale blue wallpaper background is protected by convex glass, also known as bubble glass. The pediment at the top, adorned with motifs of quiver, torch, and two doves surrounded by a foliage, lends it an incredibly striking presence. The original mechanism at the back is still intact. It remains in its original condition, including the gilding, wallpaper, and mechanism. Measuring 86 cm in height and 50 cm in width, it would make a fantastic finishing touch to any 18th-century interior decor.
