Incredible workmanship antique coat rack & stick stand. Over the years we have seen and sold a number of unique and top quality antiques made of wrought iron, but this is by far the best we have ever seen. The Arts & Crafts design of this large and incredibly stylish hallway coat rack really is breath taking. Both design wise and in terms of the quality of the workmanship this simply is a work of art. The quality of the 'blacksmithing' is so good that we first did not understand what we were looking at, because it is almost too good. The precision with which the hand forged details are made and the cleanness of the surface and the perfection of the connections, we have never seen anything like this. We even contemplated that this could be a replica. However, when looking at the wear to the base, the antique nuts and the antique wooden casters/wheels, we were convinced this is a genuine antique. In this day and age, it would be impossible to find a blacksmith capable of creating a piece like this, but even in the late 1800s and early 1900s this kind of quality and detail would be outstanding. We wish there would be a way to find out, which master blacksmith created this work of beauty, because he really deserves to be mentioned here. We are certain that somewhere in the world there is a hallway in which this masterpiece is supposed to shine. It is just a matter of time before that hallway (and its owners) and this masterpiece will be together.
