Polychrome Filikli Angora Wool Anatolian Runner Rug Designed by Pini Leibovich

About the Item

A stunning filikli rug in a narrow runner format, hand knotted in central Anatolia using hand spun, naturally dyed Angora wool in various shades of red, pink, yellow and ivory, and then mixed randomly in order to obtain an abstract arrangement of color. This piece is designed by Pini Leibovich, a prominent industry designer who is very well known in Israel. After graduating from Bezalel Academy of Arts in Jerusalem, Pini started to develop products for companies in Israel and abroad, gradually establishing his own practice through a personal design methodology and language. His studio work consists on designing unique furniture and objects, ranging from consumer goods for the mass market to unique projects and collaborations with high end furniture companies. Pini is a senior lecturer at the faculty of Industrial Design department in Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Israel. Pini presented a few solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions. He won the “Ot Haitzuv” prize in 2005 and 2009 (national Israeli design prize award), the Ministry of Education Award and the Crate and Barrel Award. His works were presented in prestigious Design Museums and Galleries such as the Cooper Hewitt New York, Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, Israel Museum Jerusalemand the Design Museum Holon. His works can be found in important design and art collections.
