Beech armchair with rope seat, France, 1950's

About the Item

Like a desire to sit on this armchair on the balcony of a small village room in Provence, and enjoy breakfast facing Mont Ventoux... These lines, borrowed from furniture that has proven itself over time, were reused and slightly refined around the middle of the last century to offer seats with soft shapes, combined with popular materials that were originally found in our countryside. Simple, warm and organic, this set of three armchairs recalls the work of Charlotte Perriand, in the mid-1930s, mixing rustic materials and shapes that have become ideal over the years.
