Vintage Chinese Red Lacquered Carved Elm Armchair with Heavy Foliage Detailing

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning hand-carved solid elm lacquered throne armchair A really rare an expertly hand-carved piece, the detail is never ending and of the highest standard, there are many variations of these chairs, they were being made up until the 1950s but by that time they were much simpler without the level of detail that this chair has, this is one of the 1920s pieces This one is an all singing all dancing fully head to toe carved piece, it looks absolutely stunning from every angle and is actually quite comfortable to sit in The condition is very good, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, the timber has a nice used patina, there is an old repair to the back otherwise it's in good condition Dimensions Height 78cm Width 63.5cm Depth 52cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
