19th Century Neoclassical Italian Regency Period Curule Leg Bench

About the Item

Sublime 19th century Italian regency bench featuring three pairs of x-form curule legs ending with gilt lions paw feet. Crafted in the neoclassical taste with carved rosettes on the tops of each leg. The black lacquered ebonized trestle base has parcel gilt accents on the borders and a desirable aged patina on the finish. Newly upholstered with an oversized white cushion cloud on the top. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a faded, aged, and weathered patina. Provenance: From the estate of artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022) Calistoga, CA.
