"Christian Liaigre (French, 1943-2020) Mercer Kitchen (designed 1997) dining chairs, a pair, each chair with a curved back with an 'M' engraved into the surface of the backrest and back, the stained plywood frame with a taupe-covered seat above tapering square legs.
33 inches in height, 19 inches in width, 16 inches in depth, and approximately 18.5 inches seat height.
Provenance: The Mercer Kitchen, Mercer Hotel, New York. Note: The Mercer Kitchen at the Mercer Hotel was designed by Christian Liaigre in 1997, with an industrial aesthetic softened by luxurious comfort. These chairs are from the original Liaigre 1997 design and predate the 2023 renovation. Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Mercer Kitchen was a landmark restaurant for celebrities, food lovers, and New Yorkers."
