Danish Channel back Club or lounge Chair ca, 1950 attributed to Fritz Hansen
About the Item
Sublime medium size club chair reminiscent of Fritz Hansen's famous model 1518 and likely made in the late around 1950 judging from the leg design and the slimmer armrests. The chair is unmarked and we are not aware of the Designer/Maker but since we see this design from time time to time we know it has to be from a prolific maker, Fritz Hansen being the most likely maker. Superbly comfortable with elegant proportions and a charming and very strong presence to anchor any room. Raised on beech wood legs. Spring coils in the backrest and the seat indicating a manufacturing year close to 1950. Overall very good sturdy condition. Upholstered at a later point and the fabric remains in clean usable condition. We are able to reupholster the chair at a very attractive price and can recover in a 100% Australian merino lambs wool or in real shearling while retaining the channels in the backrest.
