19th Century Rosewood Side Cabinet

About the Item

A very showy Regency side cabinet or chiffonier in Brazilian rosewood. English circa 1820 of very good quality having mahogany drawer linings even mahogany backboards. The veneers are chased with finely cut brass inlay decorating the entire front. On the top is a lovely brass gallery giving the piece a hugely decorative quality. The patina is very good and the whole piece has clearly been made in an esteemed cabinet-maker's workshop of the time. The majority of the carcass is constructed from mahogany , as are the shelves and is of small proportions rendering it very delicate. Unfortunately the cabinet does not bear a maker's name so we cannot research this beautiful piece any further.
