Fine Antique Highboy Chest With Shell Carving

About the Item

A large and very well made 19th Century American Highboy. The Chest, with fine traditional form and dove-tail construction drawers has an upper unit with strongly formed Broken Pediment with SunFlower carved accents, central Acorn form finial, central top drawer with a well carved Shell and flat brass Batwing pulls and Escutcheons. The base unit with four drawers another Shell carved drawer and powerfully carved Cabriolet legs with Ball and Claw foot. While the matching is exceptional, we believe the top and bottom units are associated. Lacking a key. Dimensions: 40.5” wide by 22.5” deep by 87.5” high. Condition: Please see detail photos. The overall condition with only acceptable signs of age including a few scratches which do not detract from the very fine traditional presentation.
