Inlaid George III Chest on Chest
About the Item
Inlaid George III chest on chest, the upper section with cove cornice above delicately crafted dentil molding. The three over three drawers are inlaid with a band of satinwood inside the cock bead, bordered by a combined string of ebony and boxwood and is followed inside this with a string of boxwood inlay, the secondary wood is oak and pine. The upper and lower sides are inlaid with the same ebony-boxwood combination as in the drawers. The open fretwork pulls and escutcheons are English hand made copies of an original 18th century pull. The lower section with three straight drawers, the chest rests on original bracket feet.
