Japanese Antique Black Drawers / Storage Tansu / 1868s-1912s WabiSabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese black drawer. It was used in a private house in the Tohoku region of Japan. It seems to be around the Meiji period. Over the years, the expression created by soot is natural and very beautiful. The material is cedar, which rubs due to the passage of time and use, and has a unique and beautiful expression that can not be created by human hands. Because the depth is shorter than the general Tansu, it seems to be good to put it in a corridor and combine it with a flower ware. It is an item that adds the beauty of wabisabi to the modern interior. Weight: 20kg
