Classic 19th C. Country French Hutch

About the Item

A two-part hutch. The top with a carved cornice over three shelves for plates with carved moldings. The lower cabinet with deep top over two short frieze drawers with oval moldings and fine brass foliate pulls. The figured wood double doors with carved recessed panels and carved leaves in the corners. Brass escutcheons, one real and one faux (lacking a key). Recessed sides and the front with a shaped skirt and curved feet. Measures: H. 86 1/2", W. 48", Depth 22 1/2" Condition: Please see all detail photos. The cornice is chipped on the top right corner, hutch with stable age cracks and worn finish on the back and top surface, stable age split to the top interior back board, some stable open joinery, the cabinet doors with a few stable age cracks, stains on the drawers and doors, well worn cabinet top, some stable age cracks here and there, there is an old filled age crack on the right-side facing frame. and a repaired interior hinge connection. The back attachment slats are a later addition. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Hutch displays very well and in a particularly authentic manner.
