Unusual Swedish Antique Tall Country Secretary Desk in Painted Pine

About the Item

Rare Swedish secretary desk dated 1847 and monogrammed. The secretary desk is made in painted pine and has the original finish. Original paint with an unusual marbled top. Interior with drawers and two doors in the center, all decorated with a ribbed decor. The secretary desk is painted with faux paint to imitate wood with green accents on the doors and interior in addition to the unusual marbling on the top. The two colours contrast nicely and brings out the details of the craftsmanship such as the ribbed decor on the drawers. The secretary desk is from Ljusdal in Hälsingland, Sweden. Original working locks and keys. Healthy and solid frame with some minor loss of material at the bottom by the hinge to writers desk - see picture. Nothing that effects the function. Height to writers desk is 72cm, totalt height is 110 plus 8 cm for the rim around the back.
