19th Century French Napoleon III Period Empire Center Table ~ Gueridon
About the Item
19th century French Napoleon III Period Empire center table ~ Gueridon is a classic ode to the fascination Napoleon Bonaparte had with ancient Greek and Egyptian civilizations, even going so far as to launch military incursions and conquer much of those regions. The tailored top and apron are supported by the caryatid form carved to an artful degree of beauty, with tapered four-faceted legs leading down to the lions' paw feet which in turn rest on a contoured base that serves double duty as reinforcement for the structure as well as an additional surface. Constructed entirely from exotic imported mahogany, it is ready to serve your family for several more generations, only becoming more endearing along the way!
