Mid Century Danish Ole Wanscher Rosewood Colonial Side Table by PJ furniture

About the Item

The Colonial Coffee Table that Ole Wanscher designed in 1964. The side table's simple, timeless design supports the Colonial Series' visual expression and provides a harmonious focal point for the entire series. Wanscher’s classic and contemporary designs made him popular. In 1958, the Danish newspaper Politiken wrote: “Owning a Wanscher chair is an adventure every day, and will be so even several hundred years from now, for this is how long it lasts”. Today, his modern classics are still revered for their detail and his deep respect for materials. Magnificent rare and highly desirable mid century modern Ole Wanscher Brazilian Rosewood Colonial Side Tables by cabinet maker Poul Jeppesens Møbelfabrik. Made in Denmark circa 1950, this rosewood table with a square top with small lip to the edge, the cylindrical tapered supports joined by two stretchers, bearing 'Danish Furniture makers Control' label and 'Made In Denmark PJ Design Ole Wanscher' label to the underside. The timeless design of this side table makes it the ideal addition to any contemporary living space, whether used next to a sofa or armchair or as a compact coffee table in smaller spaces.
