19th Century Writing Desk

About the Item

A well made, early 19th century mahogany writing desk, of an unusually shallow depth. This attractive one piece desk still has its original tooled, dark green, fitted writing leather to the top, over three drawers and each pedestal contians three drawers, all with origina, oval brass plate handles. The pedestals terminate on plinth bases and casters below. This desk would fit in a small space like a home office and would complement a traditional interior. Circa 1840, Mahogany, originating from England.

    Wear consistent with age and use. The leather does have scuffs and marks. Some small historical knocks and cracks to the wood on the sides of the pedestals, all of which would be expected with a piece of this age.
