18th c. Swedish Gustavian Period Drop Leaf Table and Console in Original Paint

About the Item

A rare Swedish drop leaf table from the Gustavian period in original paint, circa 1780. A very practical piece with two large leaves each supported by double gates. When not needed, the leaves drop down out of the way, making a narrow table that is 10.5 inches deep. Each leaf measures 28 inches wide. The hinges are made from hand-wrought iron. This beautiful gate leg table would also make a beautiful sofa table or console table for a hall.
