18th Century Queen Anne Lowboy
About the Item
18th century Queen Anne lowboy, the top with molded edge above three drawers with overlapping molding. The drawer fronts are cross banded with satinwood around the perimeter, followed inside this by a small band of angled king wood encased with a thin line of boxwood. The brass pulls appear to be antique but not original, the original brass pulls had cotter pin posts( see photo). Below the center drawer are three inlaid satin wood bows connected with swags , also of note are the two round inlaid rosettes . The front legs have a ''lamb's tongue'' feature at the knee and terminate with pad feet.
Another construction item worth noting is the back being dovetailed into the case (see photo).
