Circa 1730 English Country Oak Lowboy or Dressing Table

About the Item

English, c.1730, country oak lowboy or dressing table. Walnut cross-banding. Oak & deal secondary woods. Second set of pulls, first with cotter pins. An exceptionally sophisticated provincial piece. Shaped side aprons; scalloped front apron with whale's tail drop; sharply shaped legs to drake feet. Lacking several runners. Two minor banding losses to front & old repair to burned top at front right edge. Measures: 26 3/4" W., 16 3/4" D., 27 5/8" H.
