Hand crafted Sculptural Ceramic Side Table
About the Item
Each piece is made by hand making for originality and true craftsmanship. Kerry Hastings takes inspiration from landscape, the body and the sensual curves found in the work of sculptors such as Jean Hans Arp and Barbara Hepworth. Kerry uses the ancient technique of coiling with ropes of clay to make her unique designs. This side table was made with a grey stoneware clay and once the build is complete a liquid porcelain is brushed on to inlay into the incised lines that Kerry has made with a pottery tool. Then the form is burnished with an agate stone for a beautiful to the touch smooth as a pebble feel. The top only is glazed in white tin glaze. Fired to 1200 degrees centrigade this sculptural table is suitable for both indoors and out to create an area of calm in art and design for any contemporary home.
