Large Original Vintage Beer Drink Poster Whitbread Stout Gives Strength Elephant

Original vintage drink advertising poster for Whitbread Stout featuring a fun illustration of a young elephant holding a Whitbread stout bottle in his trunk and pouring the beer into a pint glass with the bold text in Dutch in green and black lettering below - Whitbread stout Geeft Kracht / Whitbread Stout Gives Strength - and the text in English in white on the bottle label reads - Recommended For Invalids (stout porter beer gained a reputation at the beginning of the 20th century of being healthy and was often recommended by doctors to help medical recovery). The brewery Whitbread of London was established by Samuel Whitbread in 1742; by the 1780s it was the largest brewery in the world; the company now focuses on its leisure and hospitality businesses, selling the Whitbread Beer Company breweries in 2001.
