Original vintage Soviet space race propaganda poster - The Way to the Planets is Open to Mankind! ? ???????? ???????? ???? ??????! - issued in celebration of the first man in space on 12 April 1961, the pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin; 1934-1968) depicting a man holding out his arms on a Vostok spacecraft in front of a large red flag with the hammer and sickle State Emblem of the Soviet Union on it, white rays radiating from a sun marked with the date on the yellow background, the rest of the text in bold red lettering on the side. Large size. Very good condition, restored tears on edges, minor staining, backed on linen.
